The Notre Dame football team will look to get back to their winning ways on Saturday, and here are three key Irish to watch in the matchup vs. VT.

Coming off their first loss of the 2021 college football season, the Notre Dame football team will battle it out on the road against Virginia Tech Saturday night. Inside a Lane Stadium that will certainly be rocking, the Irish will need to be solid on both sides of the ball, especially with how up and down they have been on both sides of the ball this season.

With that said, here are three key members of the Irish for the matchup against Virginia Tech.

The QB

It has been an interesting season for the quarterbacks on this Notre Dame football team, as they have shuttled in and out, have gone down via injury, and have been ineffective at times. Sure, there have been some highs, including Jack Coan’s record-breaking opener, and some flashes from Drew Pyne and Tyler Buchner, but overall, we still do not know who the main guy will be for this program going forward.

Whoever the starter is, has to put their stamp on this team, as the Irish cannot go the rest of the way playing a quarterback carousel if they want to finish strong. If it is Pyne, we will get a good look at what the team has going forward, and with Buchner and Steve Angelli in the mix next season, the quarterback spot will once again be up in the air.
