The Notre Dame football team takes on Virginia Tech in Week 6, and here are three things to keep an eye on in the matchup.

On Saturday, the Notre Dame football took their first loss of the season, as they were beaten pretty soundly at home by the Cincinnati Bearcats. For the Irish, the loss could spell the end of their chances of getting back to the College Football Playoff, but it does not mean their season is over.

In fact, there are plenty of things to play for in 2021, and it all starts on the road against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday night. With that said, here are three things to watch for against the Hokies.

Playing inside Lane Stadium

The Irish have not played a legitimate road game in quite some time, as the last time they were in another building was Week 1 against Florida State. In that game, the Irish needed overtime to come away with the victory, and in Week 6, they head to a place that has given teams fits over the years.

Lane Stadium is certainly a tough place to play, and the stadium has already taken down a top-10 team, as the North Carolina Tar Heels got off to an 0-1 start to their season on the road against Virginia Tech. The stadium is going to be rocking in this one, especially due to the fact it will be a primetime game, so it will be interesting to see how the Irish step up.
