3 reasons Notre Dame football will beat Virginia Tech in Week 6

Marcus Freeman vs Virginia Tech’s offense

When it comes to this matchup, it is easy to say that both offenses have struggled in a big way this season. For Virginia Tech, they put up 35 points against Middle Tennessee State back in Week 2, but since then, they have yet to score more than 21 points in a game, something that is likely to happen again Saturday.

The Irish have not been great on defense this season, but they have gotten better every week under new defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman, and he has them playing at a high level now. Against this Virginia Tech offense, you can expect Freeman to have an outstanding game plan, holding Braxton Burmeister down, and eliminating what the Hokies like to do on that side of the ball.

Freeman was the most sought-after defensive coach available this offseason, and this is going to be a game where he shows off how far his defense has come. The Irish go into the bye week after the Virginia Tech game and will regroup after a roller coaster of a start, and against VT, I like this defense to have their best game yet.
