Notre Dame football: Where does Kyle Hamilton land in the latest 2022 NFL Mock Drafts?
247Sports: Pick No. 5, Atlanta Falcons
In the most recent mock draft over at 247Sports.com, Brad Crawford likes Hamilton to be a top-5 pick, sliding in at No. 5 overall to the Atlanta Falcons. I like this landing spot for a few reasons, but most of all, because the Falcons struggle on the defensive side of the ball, and they could use a playmaker like Hamilton immediately.
Atlanta used a second round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on Richie Grant, and eventually, he is a player who will be a full-time starter for the Falcons. They also added veteran Erik Harris to the fold this offseason, but if they were to draft Hamilton, the combination of Grant and he would be the duo going forward.
The NFC South is a very pass-happy division, including guys who like to sling it in Jameis Winston, Tom Brady, and even Sam Darnold. Atlanta has to be better against the pass if they hope to make it back to relevancy in the NFC, and after using a first round pick on offense in 2021, bringing in Kyle Pitts, adding Hamilton here makes sense.
It also helps that Hamilton is from the ATL.
