Notre Dame football is on a bye week, but there are still plenty of great games to watch that are going to impact the Irish going forward.

Some of these games might tell us something about one of Notre Dame’s future opponents. Another might impact Notre Dame’s New Year’s Six chances, or it might just be a great game to pay attention to.

Of course, there must be some level of entertainment with these games too. There’s no point in saying, “Watch Miami vs. North Carolina, because the Irish have to play the Tar Heels and blah blah blah.”

You know who’s on the schedule. Both of those teams stink, frankly. Only turn it on if you want to watch Manny Diaz lose his job. Wait, that might be a good reason to watch. I don’t judge your motives, at least.

To some extent, watch whatever games you want and for whatever reasons you might have. There are so many things that make this sport great that your motives don’t even have to make sense. You can watch Iowa vs. Purdue because you want chaos and Notre Dame football to see their strength of schedule to improve.

You can watch Hawaii late at night to try and hold onto the Saturday slate. You can watch UCF and Cincinnati, hoping the Bearcats lose out of some sense of vengeance, or maybe you just like watching the traditions at Nebraska.

Here is a sample of games that you might want to tune into, all of which could impact Notre Dame’s future in the 2021 season. So, sit back and enjoy a stress-free weekend.
