Kentucky at Georgia

Georgia is going to win this game, and there’s not a ton of reason to predict anything else happens. If they were to lose, it would shake college football in its own right. It would also likely mean that the SEC goes from probably getting two teams into the College Football Playoff down to only one, which allows room for post-season chaos.

But, they’re not going to lose, so don’t get your hopes up.

However, how badly Georgia beats Kentucky does matter to the race for the New Year’s Six Bowls. Kentucky is a school that the polls refuse to respect. What other SEC school can be 6-0 and not even crack the top-10? Maybe Vanderbilt. The point is that this game will go a long way in determining how the public and college football world perceive this year’s Kentucky team, which is more important than the reality of who they are, good or bad.

If Kentucky keeps it close, they’ll stay ahead of a team like Notre Dame in the race for a New Year’s Six Bowl. If they get blown out, everyone will yada yada the Wildcats, and teams that have been there before, like the Irish, will pass them again.

This is an important game that we already know the ending to. What we don’t know is how we get to the end, and that’s what matters most in this instance. It’s one of those “journey, not the destination” things.
