Ole Miss at Tennessee

Sometimes you should just put on a game because it’s going to be a fun game, and not for any reason other than that. This is a fun and exciting sport. Why not sit back and enjoy it? Tennessee is playing better than anyone expected under first-year coach Jose Heupel, as his high-flying, deep shot attack is lighting Knoxville on fire.

In their last two SEC games, Tennessee has 700 rushing yards and is averaging 53.5 points per game. They’re going up against Ole Miss, who has allowed an average of 47 points per game over their last two, and their only stop last week was on a two-point conversion at the end of the game against Arkansas. They won, behind their insanely talented offense.

Quarterback Matt Corral is a real Heisman candidate and Lane Kiffin is an offensive madman.

Speaking of Lane Kiffin, he used to coach Tennessee. It was a blink if you miss it situation, as he left for USC after one promising season. They hated him for it then, and you better believe they didn’t forget.

To put it simply, this is the most entertaining game of the weekend. There should be a crowd of over 100,000 at Neyland Stadium, which will be checkerboarded out. On top of that, Ole Miss is a New Year’s Six Bowl contender. They’re likely going to one too unless they drop a couple of regular-season games. So, Notre Dame needs them to find losses.

Might as well root for Tennessee, but mostly just root for fun.

Bonus: Yale at UConn

UConn is trying to be the worst team in college football history, which they also tried and lay claim to in 2018, but this team might take the cake. They just lost to UMass. The week before was a Vanderbilt loss. They’ve already lost to Holy Cross. Against FBS opponents, UConn is losing by an average score of 37.8 to 14. Head coach Randy Edsall announced his retirement at the end of the season, only to be fired the next day instead.

Make no mistake, Yale is not a top Ivy League team, but they are favored in this game. Maybe don’t leave this game on all afternoon, but don’t be afraid to rubberneck either.
