Notre Dame football: Reasonable expectations for the Irish against USC

Irish cover the spread

According to WynnBet, the Notre Dame football team is currently a 6.5-point favorite against the Trojans, a pretty solid number when you consider this rivalry. While that is a big number in terms of the Irish’s margins of victory this season, I not only like them to cover the spread, but they could be in line to blow that number away.

In our game preview, we had the Irish winning by two touchdowns against USC, especially if the offensive line continues to play well. The defense should be able to hold down Slovis and the passing attack, and the defensive line has enough talent on it to stop Keaontay Ingram and company toting the rock.

This is a great opportunity for the Irish to make a statement in primetime on Saturday night, and they certainly have the talent to do so. This is a rivalry game, so you never know what could happen as we stated earlier, but USC is a program that is reeling right now, and despite their struggles, Notre Dame is the better team and should come out on top.
