The Notre Dame football team takes on UNC this weekend, and here are three Tar Heels that must be stopped in the Week 9 matchup.

The Notre Dame football team had one of their more complete games of the season on Saturday night, beating the hated USC Trojans down inside Notre Dame Stadium in primetime. In Week 9, the Irish will once again take the field in primetime, welcoming the UNC Tar Heels to town in another must-win game.

For UNC, this has not been the season they had imagined, as there was a lot of preseason hype, but they still have playmakers, and here are three that must be stopped Saturday night.

Tony Grimes, Cornerback

It was against the Fighting Irish that Tony Grimes, a standout cornerback for UNC, made his first collegiate start last year. Thrown into the fire as a freshman, Grimes did a nice job against Notre Dame, and went into this season as one of the top players in the country, ranking in the top-100 according to ESPN.

Teams do not like to throw Grimes’ way, and for good reason, so keeping him out of the action is going to be paramount for Jack Coan and this Irish offense on Saturday night. They should be able to dominate in the run game, utilizing Kyren Williams in a big way, while keeping a playmaker like Grimes as more of an innocent bystander.
