The Notre Dame football team takes on UNC in Week 9, and here are three members of the Irish to keep an eye on during the matchup.
On Saturday night, the Notre Dame football team will play host to Sam Howell and the UNC Tar Heels in primetime under the lights of Notre Dame Stadium. The Tar Heels came into the 2021 college football season with plenty of buzz, but have been an up and down team all year long, and will be coming off the bye week here.
Here, we look at three members of the Irish to keep an eye on Saturday night.
Notre Dame football vs. UNC Tar Heels: 3 Irish players to watch in Week 9
In what was arguably his best game of the season, Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa dominated against the USC Trojans, putting together an effort he will need to duplicate against the Tar Heels. UNC running back Ty Chandler is a solid back, averaging nearly six yards per carry, and they like to get him going early on.
In Tagovailoa-Amosa, the Irish have a player along the interior of their defensive line that can be downright disruptive, and he will need to be against this UNC offense. This is a player with great instincts, plays with a ton of passion, and can make plays in the backfield, and I do not think UNC will have an answer for him on Saturday night.
