The Notre Dame football team takes on the UNC Tar Heels in Week 9, and here are three reasons why the Irish will win the matchup Saturday night.

The Notre Dame football team goes into their matchup against the UNC Tar Heels at 7-1, this after beating the USC Trojans in primetime in Week 8. This weekend, they will take on Tar Heels in primetime as well, and based on how they looked during the win against USC, they could be peaking right now.

North Carolina has playmakers, as well as a solid quarterback, but the Irish should prevail in this one, and here is why.

Better in the trenches

The offensive line has played at a much higher level since the team decided to revamp it, playing solid against Virginia Tech three weeks ago, and then having their best game of the season on Saturday night. Against UNC, the Irish should be able to dominate the line of scrimmage, which will prove huge against a Tar Heel team that has been wildly inconsistent this season.

Notre Dame’s defensive line is going to get push, and you can expect a big game from guys like Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa and Isaiah Foskey in this one. On offense, the expectation is that the Irish will be able to run the ball at ease against a bad Tar Heels run defense, and this will be a big reason they win.
