3 reasons Notre Dame football will beat UNC in Week 9

Kyren Williams

The biggest thing that came out of the USC game on Saturday night was the fact that the Irish were able to get back to running the football. Williams ran all over the USC Trojans, thanks to improved play by the offensive line, finishing with nearly 140 yards rushing in the contest.

Against North Carolina, the Irish need to be able to do the same, and they will likely find easy sledding against a bad run defense. Williams is one of the best running backs in the country, and the Notre Dame game plan should be for him to tote the ball at least 20 yards on Saturday night.

Kyren Williams will serve the Irish in two ways, as he will not only move the sticks, leading to long drives, but he will also help to keep Sam Howell and this UNC offense off the field. Despite their record, Howell can light up the scoreboard, so leaning on Williams will be a big reason the Irish beat UNC this weekend.
