The Notre Dame football team will take on the UNC Tar Heels on Saturday night, and here are three reasonable expectations for the Irish in the matchup.

The Notre Dame football team is currently 6-1, and while that only loss came to No. 2 Cincinnati, they are still a long way away from being considered a legitimate College Football Playoff contender. However, despite that, there is a lot left for this team to play for, including a shot at a New Years Six bowl game.

Here, we look at some reasonable expectations the team should have against a tough UNC team on Saturday night.

Notre Dame football: 3 reasonable expectations for the Irish against UNC

Tyler Buchner scores a rushing touchdown

While senior Jack Coan remains the starting quarterback for the Notre Dame football team, true freshman Tyler Buchner has found a role in Year 1. The Irish mostly use Buchner as a running quarterback, and against the UNC Tar Heels, he should find a way to get into the end zone for the second straight week.

Buchner is an outstanding athlete and has a knack for making big plays, something he has done all season long. If the Irish get into the red zone, he is going to have his number called, and I like him to once again score a rushing touchdown late against the Tsr Heels.
