Notre Dame football vs. UNC Tar Heels: 3 things we learned in Week 9

Notre Dame is a top-10 team

The latest AP Poll will be released on Sunday, and with that, we will see if the Irish have made the jump from right outside of the top-10, as they were No. 11 last week, to getting back to being a top-10 team. Notre Dame football is playing its best football right now, and with some losses within the top-10, they should make at least a one-spot leap into the top-10.

It has been a wild journey for the Irish this season, as they were left for dead early on after the loss to Cincinnati, but have come back in a big way as of late. In fact, with only one loss on their resume, there is a chance that they could be back in the College Football Playoff discussion before all is said and done.

While the CFP seems like a longshot, the truth is, this is a top-10 team, and if they win out, they will certainly be playing in a New Years Six bowl game. That would be an excellent season for Brian Kelly and his team, as young players have stepped up, and the future of the program is certainly bright.
