Notre Dame football vs. Navy Midshipmen: 3 bold predictions in Week 10

Navy Will Complete a Pass

A couple of years ago, Navy made a move to pass the ball more. That doesn’t mean that they pass a lot, or even every drive, but more than they used to. Then Malcolm Perry graduated and they haven’t found a quarterback who is capable of throwing the ball. Still, it almost sounds like a joke to predict a completed pass as a bold prediction. Until you remember that Navy didn’t complete a pass last week against Tulsa.

That’s right, on the road at Tulsa, a team not known for its secondary play, Navy failed to complete a pass. Tai Lavatai was 0/3 throwing. The best part, Navy won the game. It was everything the Midshipmen want to be on offense. 302 yards rushing. 0 yards passing. A 20-17 win.

Unfortunately, for Navy, they won’t be able to get away with that against Notre Dame. The Irish offense is much more talented and more competent than the Tulsa offense. They’re going to score enough where Navy is in a position that they have to throw and look for chunk plays to try and catch up. That’s a position Navy traditionally wants to avoid being in.

So, yes, Navy will complete a pass and it will be their disadvantage.
