Notre Dame football vs Navy: 3 reasons the Irish will win in 2021 Week 10

Navy has no passing attack

The Notre Dame football team has playmakers on all three levels of their defense, even though they will be without star safety Kyle Hamilton in this one. Hamilton is one of the best defensive players in the country, and a likely top-5 pick, so to be without him against a pass-heavy team would be tough, but not against Navy.

Last weekend, the Navy Midshipmen beat the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes without completing a single pass, something that certainly will not happen against a defense like the Irish. Tai Lavatai can make plays with his arm when asked to, but he runs the triple-option, so passing is really only used to throw a team off.

In this matchup, the triple-option is going to have its struggles, especially with how talented the Irish’s front-7 are. Guys like Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, Kurt Hinish, and JD Bertrand are going to go off in this matchup, leaving the Navy offense looking lost time and time again.
