Notre Dame football at Virginia: 3 things to watch

Irish on the road

The Notre Dame football team has not played too many true road games this season, as one of their road matchups was played inside Soldier Field. In fact, outside of the season opener against Florida State, and the Virginia Tech game a few weeks ago before the bye week, all of the Irish’s games have been played inside Notre Dame Stadium.

That has proven to be a huge advantage for Notre Dame, but they hit the road in this one, traveling to Charlottesville, Virginia to take on the Cavaliers. The Irish have played in tight games on the road in 2021, needing overtime to beat Florida State in Week 1, and then going down to the wire in a comeback victory over the Hokies before the break.

Keep an eye on how this team comes out this weekend, as they got off to another slow start against Navy, and will need to come out firing against a tough Virginia team. They have not been road warriors this season, but they are undefeated outside of Notre Dame Stadium, a trend they would like to continue on Saturday night.
