Notre Dame football: 3 Keys to victory against Virginia in Week 11

A steady dose of Kyren Williams

Last weekend, the Virginia offense exploded against BYU, scoring nearly 50 points, which should have been more than enough to secure the victory. Unfortunately for them, the BYU Cougars’ offense was nearly unstoppable, scoring 22 points in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback victory at home.

The big reason for that was the play of their running back, Tyler Allgeier, who rushed for over 250 yards and five touchdowns against this Virginia defense. This weekend, UVA will be going up against an elite running back in Kyren Williams, one who is playing his best football of the season, and could very well go for over 200 yards in this contest as well.

Williams is as good as it gets when it comes to collegiate running backs, and against this defense, the likelihood is that he is going to run wild. Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees needs to get the ball into Williams’s hands early and often on Saturday night, pounding this Cavaliers defense into submission time and time again.
