Notre Dame football at Virginia: 3 bold predictions in Week 11
Isaiah Foskey registers 3 sacks
One of the bright spots on this Notre Dame football defense has been Isaiah Foskey, a dynamic edge rusher who has already racked up eight sacks this season. Foskey is a guy who lives in the backfield, and with Virginia throwing the ball as much as they like to, he will have more than a few opportunities to get after the quarterback.
Last weekend, UVA did a great job of protecting Brennan Armstrong, as he was only sacked once in the game, and had ample time to throw. That was against BYU’s defensive line, a much weaker unit than the veteran laded group that the Cavaliers will have to go up against in this matchup.
When all is said and done, I like Foskey to be all over whoever the quarterback is for Virginia, as Marcus Freeman is going to want to make life difficult for this passing attack. While three sacks would be a monster number, he is going to get a lot of looks in terms of blitzing, and he could end up with a historic night on the road.
