Notre Dame football at Virginia: 3 things we learned in Week 11

The running back room is the best in the country

On Saturday night, we got to once again see why Kyren Williams is arguably the most complete running back in all of college football. He ran over and around the Virginia defense, got involved in the passing game, and really put the offense on his back time and time again.

Not only did Williams play well against Virginia, but we also saw true freshman Logan Diggs jump off the screen, literally, as he hurdled a Virginia defender on a big third-down conversion in the first half. Diggs has gotten more playing time as of late and has looked like the kind of back that could eventually be a feature back for this program.

Chris Tyree had his moments as well, getting worked in the run, and passing game, and when you look at this trio, they may be the best in the country. The Irish offense can hurt a team in so many ways, especially with the passing attack improving as well, but it is this group of running backs that are carrying this offense in 2021.
