The Notre Dame football team pounded the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Week 12, and here are three surprises from the 55-0 victory.

The Notre Dame football team needed a statement win against Georgia Tech in Week 12 if they wanted to keep pace in the College Football Playoff ranking. They did all of that and more on Saturday afternoon, pounding the Yellow Jackets into submission after taking a 45-0 lead going into the half.

Here, we look at three surprises from the victory inside Notre Dame Stadium.

The true freshmen

One thing that has been a pleasant surprise all year long has been the play of the true freshmen, and we saw the emergence of another one on Saturday. Audric Estime, a star running back from New Jersey saw his first action of the 2021 season and toted the rock six times for over 60 yards.

The combination of both he and Logan Diggs should be special at the running back position moving forward, as Diggs has already emerged as a future star. Diggs ran it twice, including a touchdown, while also hauling in a 20-yard touchdown reception as well.
