The Notre Dame football team takes on the Stanford Cardinal to close out their 2021 regular season, and here are three things to watch for.

The Notre Dame football team is on a roll right now, and are demolishing any team that comes in their path. They have become elite on the defensive side of the ball, not allowing a touchdown in the last three games, and will be taking on a Stanford team in Week 13 who has struggled offensively as of late.

Overall, this should be a beatdown inside Stanford Stadium, and here are some things to keep an eye on in the matchup.

Start strong

The Irish started strong against Virginia, a lesser team in Week 12, and that led to them dominating them from start to finish in a 55-0 rout inside Notre Dame Stadium. On Saturday night on the road, the Irish need to make sure they do the same against the Cardinal, a team that has not won a game in quite some time.

Stanford is a proud program, and they do have some playmakers, but the talent discrepancy between these two teams is a big one. Notre Dame football has its eyes on a possible CFP berth, but for now, they must focus on starting fast against Stanford and putting them away early.
