The Notre Dame football team rolled over Stanford on Saturday night, and here are three things we learned in the 45-14 victory.

The Notre Dame football team capped off another terrific season in style on Saturday night, obliterating the Stanford Cardinal by a score of 45-14. The Irish were nearly unstoppable on offense, their defense lived in the backfield, and for the fourth game in a row, they looked unbeatable.

Here, we look at some things we learned this Saturday night.

Notre Dame football at Stanford: 3 things we learned in Week 13

Notre Dame dominates in the trenches

The Irish were dominant upfront along both the offensive and defensive lines against Stanford, and that led to this one getting out of hand early. The defensive line lived in the backfield, making life very uncomfortable for Tanner McKee, and Stanford was never able to get the run game going in this one.

On offense, the Irish were able to give Jack Coan the time he needed to take shots downfield, and that led to a monster first half for him, as he threw for nearly 200 yards. In the second half, they were able to get the run game going, including a beautiful run by both Chris Tyree and Tyler Buchner, setting the stage for an easy victory on the road.
