Notre Dame football at Stanford: 3 things we learned in Week 13

The Irish deserve to be a CFP team

During our instant reaction piece, we stated that the Irish deserve to be a College Football Playoff team, and there are a bunch of reasons why. They look to be one of the more complete teams on both sides of the ball, and I believe that if the Irish played Cincinnati tomorrow, they would beat them by multiple scores.

A two-loss Alabama team, if they lose in the SEC title game, do not deserve to be there, and neither does a two-loss Michigan team if Iowa beats them next weekend. Georgia is a lock, as is Cincinnati if they can knock off one-loss Houston, which means a one-loss Notre Dame team, playing at this level, should certainly be included.

This was the final statement for the Irish, as they will not play in a conference title game, so the CFP committee will have to vote them in based on what they have done lately. Across the final four games, they have been one of the best teams in the country, and when all is said and done, they deserve to be included in the final four.
