Isaiah Foskey, Defensive End

Last season, the Notre Dame football team lost both Ade Ogundeji and Daelin Hayes to the 2021 NFL Draft, leaving them with a gaping hole on the edge. In 2021, the expectation was that Isaiah Foskey would be able to step into a leadership role and help negate the loss of the two edge rushers, and he has done all of that and more.

Foskey has become an absolute monster coming off the edge for the Irish, becoming a force and one of the better defensive ends in the country. He has racked up nine sacks this season, including two against both USC and Florida State, while also forcing five fumbles.

Most draft experts figure that Foskey has played his way into being a Day 2 pick, which is a far jump from where he was when the season started. He has replaced the production of Ogundeji and Hayes, and then some, and for defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman, having him back in 2022 would be key.
