The Notre Dame football team is losing Kyren Williams to the NFL, but could he end up being the first RB taken in the 2022 NFL Draft?

The Notre Dame football team received word a few weeks back that star running back Kyren Williams would be entering the 2022 NFL Draft. The Irish have leaned on Williams for the past two seasons, and he has rewarded their faith by rushing for back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns, becoming the fifth back to do so.

With Williams heading to the NFL, we decided to take a look at what will make him the most coveted running back prospect in this year’s class.

Williams can block

It may sound simple, but running backs that can block are worth their weight in gold at the NFL level. In fact, some teams have players on the roster where that is their only skill, and with the NFL being so pass-happy, it is crucial to have guys in the backfield who can give the quarterback that extra second he needs to make plays happen downfield.

Williams is a player who is not afraid to go out and lay a big hit on the defense, and that is going to stand out when the scouts watch his tape. He is not only a multi-faceted running back who can score from anywhere on the field, but he is also unselfish, and willing to do the dirty work for his fellow weapons on offense.
