Notre Dame football: 3 reasons Kyren Williams should be RB1 in 2022 NFL Draft

Three-down back

A huge part of today’s NFL is having a running back who can be on the field for all three downs. When it comes to Williams, there is no scenario where he would be seen as a liability on offense, whether it is a passing down or a running play.

Being able to not only get the job done on the ground or through the air is solid enough, but due to the fact he is an elite blocker, he can remain in on obvious passing downs as a protector for the quarterback. Most NFL teams have to go with a two-back system to accomplish what Williams will be able to do on his own at the next level.

The Irish will have to take on the Oklahoma State defense without Williams on New Years Day, but there is enough talent behind him to still be able to run the football. Williams was a special player during his time in South Bend, and hopefully, he can take that to the next level, becoming a dominant player in the NFL.
