Notre Dame football signings who could make an immediate impact

Bryce McFerson, Punter

Bryce McFerson is one of the top punter recruits in the country. Standing at 6ft 1in and 175lbs, this two-star punter is coming to Notre Dame out of the state of North Carolina. Don’t mind the two-star rating, as kickers and punters are always devalued in regards to their star ratings.

Notre Dame landed the commitment from McFerson late in the recruiting cycle. He had originally been committed to playing at Wake Forest before the Irish made a late push. In November, he visited Notre Dame, de-committed from Wake Forest, then committed to Notre Dame. It was a major win in the recruiting cycle, and it was good to have the young specialist stay on once Brian Kelly moved on.

Expect Bryce McFerson to compete for the starting punting job next year, as well as potentially working on kickoffs.
