Notre Dame football signings who could make an immediate impact

Tyson Ford, Defensive Line

Tyson Ford is a four-star defensive lineman from St. Louis, MO, who stands at 6ft 5in and 260lbs. He chose Notre Dame over more than two dozen other schools that offered him, including Arkansas and Arizona State. Even with all that, Ford was a Marcus Freeman recruit to Notre Dame and he’s still going to be excited to play for Freeman.

Ford is projected to be a starter in the Power 5 one day. He’s comfortable playing on the outside and acting as an edge rusher. However, he’s strong enough to slide down inside and play against the run too. Simply put, he’s incredibly athletic with an insanely high motor to compete. Expect him to get plenty of playing time.

Being a defensive lineman will also help him to play in his freshman season as well, because teams typically rotate defensive linemen, as many as three or four deep at times. This way the defensive linemen stay fresh. It’s also a great way for freshmen and other young players to see playing time early.
