Notre Dame football signings who could make an immediate impact

Jaylen Sneed, Linebacker

Jaylen Sneed, a five-star linebacker, is the best overall player in Notre Dame’s Class of 2022. He’s got prototypical size, at 6ft 2in and 210lbs. Sneed held 35 offers, other than Notre Dame, including Alabama, Tennessee, and Oregon.

In high school, Sneed has been a three-sport athlete and played both sides of the ball for his football team.

Sneed is more of an outside linebacker or edge rusher type player than an interior linebacker. This will give him room to rotate in on passing situations. He is known for his tackling abilities, though, which also will give him versatility on any defense.

Sneed gets off blocks well, which helps him to stop plays like screens. He also already brings explosive speed to the table.

As with defensive linemen. linebackers tend to rotate, which will give Sneed plenty of opportunities to play early during his time at Notre Dame. The Irish have five linebackers in their final year with the program too, so there is a need to find the next generation of linebackers.
