The Notre Dame football team is losing some key talent on the offensive side of the ball, but 2021 true freshmen are ready to step in and dominate.

During the 2021 college football season, we saw a bunch of new faces step in and dominate for the Notre Dame football team. In a season where the Irish lost 14 players from the 2020 team to the NFL, the Irish not only reloaded, but ended up winning seven straight to close the regular season, and nearly made the College Football Playoff.

A lot of their success came thanks to the play of some true freshmen who stepped in and helped right the ship after a tough start to the season. The Irish beat Florida State in the opener in an exciting, overtime matchup, but then struggled mightily against the likes of Toledo and Purdue.

The culmination of the tough start came at home against Cincinnati, where the Irish lost badly to the Bearcats, and in the end, affected their chances of getting into the playoff. However, this team banded together, and after the bye week, and the team revamping the offensive line, they looked like one of the best teams in college football.

Here, we look at some true freshmen from this year’s roster who are going to step up and lead the offense in 2022.
