Notre Dame football: Expectations for the Irish against Oklahoma State

A true freshman finds the end zone

With Kyren Williams out, and Chris Tyree’s turf toe healed, you can expect a three-headed monster at the running back spot on Saturday. Two of those three running backs are true freshmen, as both Logan Diggs and Audric Estime have done a nice job in Year 1, with Diggs especially taking on a large role down the stretch.

Also, the Irish have some exciting young wide receivers on the outside, led by Lorenzo Styles Jr., who had moved into a starting role for this game. In addition, looking at the two-deep heading into this matchup, both Jayden Thomas and Deion Colzie will be backup wideouts against the Cowboys, and both should see the field in this one.

When all is said and done, this one has the potential to see a lot of points, and that means the Irish will find the end zone more than a few times. One of these true freshmen are certain to score against Oklahoma State, and I would not be surprised if more than one found the end zone on Saturday afternoon.
