The Notre Dame basketball team won their sixth game in a row on Wednesday, and it is time they start getting some national love.

For the Notre Dame basketball team, this has been an incredible run since inserting true freshman Blake Wesley into the starting lineup. While Wesley has proven to be one of the best players in the country, and his draft status has rocketed through the room, the rest of the team also should be getting some national love.

In fact, with their sixth straight win on Wednesday, a dominating performance against the Clemson Tigers, the Irish have pushed their record to 10-5. Early-season bad losses are in the rearview mirror as they make their push towards an NCAA Tournament berth, and they are getting contributions up and down the roster.

Notre Dame basketball deserves to be in the top-25

The narrative surrounding the program heading into this season was not a good one, as they had not been to the NCAA Tournament in years, and it seemed like head coach Mike Brey was on borrowed time. However, after a rough start the season, the Irish got rejuvenated with a tremendous win over Kentucky, the first start of the season for Wesley, and a game where he had the game-winning bucket.

Now, with a bonafide star on their team, and depth on the wings, the Irish are beating everyone in their path, including the North Carolina Tar Heels last week. Two wins against Blue Bloods is good enough for any NCAA Tournament resume, but with the way the Irish are playing, they should have their sights set on an ACC title.

Notre Dame basketball has a tough stretch of games ahead of them, and they recently announced that the Duke game that was canceled due to COVID issues will be played at the end of January. They have a lot more chances to prove they belong in the top-25, and if they continue the way they have been playing, they will certainly get there.
