Notre Dame football: 2022 Offensive Line could bring home Joe Moore Award

Harry Hiestand is back

New head coach Marcus Freeman has done a great job bolstering his staff for his first full season as the man in charge of this Notre Dame football team. He has made a few crucial hires, but none as big as the one he made within the offensive line, bringing back an elite talent in Harry Hiestand.

For those who do not remember, Hiestand was the offensive line coach for the Irish from 2012 through 2017, and he produced some incredible talent, including multiple first-round picks. In his last season in South Bend, Notre Dame brought home the Joe Moore Award, as that was a special group led by the likes of Mike McGlinchey and Quenton Nelson, two players who could eventually be picked in the first round.

The Irish also had depth that season, and in 2021, he inherits an offensive line with a lot of the same traits, including some elite talent to work with. He is the perfect man to mold this young offensive line, one that will have two true sophomores at the tackle spots in 2022, as well as a first-time starting guard in Rocco Spindler.
