Notre Dame football: 2022 Offensive Line could bring home Joe Moore Award

OL is elite across the board

We have already discussed the combination of Joe Alt and Blake Fisher, two true sophomores who will be dominant bookends for this Irish offense for at least the next two seasons. While Alt was the left tackle with Fisher out, they could swap sides in 2022, as Fisher earned the starting left tackle job as a true freshman before being injured, which is a testament to how good he is.

Also, the Irish got great news when Jarrett Patterson announced he will return to the team for one more season, as he is arguably the best center in the country. He was the No. 2 center on the 2022 NFL Draft boards, so to get him back, especially with turnover at quarterback, is going to be huge for this offensive line in terms of talent, as well as leadership.

With Cain Madden leaving, Rocco Spindler likely slides into the starting lineup, where he will be joined by Andrew Kristofic as the guards in 2022. However, there is also a ton of depth, as Josh Lugg will battle Spindler for the starting spot, and being a sixth-year player, he could edge him out when all is said and done.
