Notre Dame football: Replacing potential 2022 NFL Draft picks

Kyren Williams, Running Back

Two key players are leaving South Bend for the NFL this offseason, and both could have come back for another go-around with the program. Instead, running back Kyren Williams and Kyle Hamilton will head to the next level, and they should be the first two members of the Irish program taken in the 2022 NFL Draft.

During his time as the feature back for the Irish, a span of two seasons, Williams posted back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns. A tremendous back whether running the ball or even in the passing game, Williams became a weapon for this Notre Dame football team, rounding into one of the best overall running backs in the country.

Replacing him is going to be tough, but luckily for this program, they are loaded at the running back position. Two true freshmen in 2021 got some playing time, including Logan Diggs, who looks to be the one to take over as the RB1 for Notre Dame in 2022.

Fellow true freshman Audric Estime is a powerful back who is going to be special for the Irish, and Chris Tyree is a dynamic player who can score at any moment. Plus, Notre Dame has Jadarian Price coming in via the 2022 recruiting class, and he was widely regarded as one of the best high school running backs in the country.
