Notre Dame Football: Three 2022 NFL Draft landing spots for Kyren Williams

No. 1: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

There is without question more talent in the Buccaneers running back unit than the previously mentioned teams. Though, what does that talent look like exactly? As of the playoffs, the situation is more by committee than any singular established guy.

That committee consists of Giovani Bernard, Le’Veon Bell, Leonard Fournette, Ronald Jones II, and Ke’Shawn Vaughn.

Even though multiple backs to spell a drive or two for the “workhorse” is necessary, having one do-it-all back as opposed to numerous can be beneficial. Kyren racked up 995 yards on the ground to go along with 14 touchdowns and 359 receiving yards in 2021. Though he averaged his career-low in yards per attempt at 4.9, he was dealing with a struggling offensive line to start the year.

Williams could boost the already potent Tampa Bay offense and protect their 44-year-old leader in Tom Brady. While I think Tampa Bay is confident in their current group of guys given the solid play of Ke’Shawn Vaughn, it doesn’t hurt to bring in an every-down type of back. An established and thriving team could be a perfect fit for the talented back out of Notre Dame.

Kyren will get his shot at the highest level; only time will tell where that will be.
