The Notre Dame football team could still improve their roster via the transfer portal, and here are three targets that are still available for them.

Coaches can approach the transfer portal in a couple of different ways. Some are going to loudly complain to the media that it’s making their jobs harder. They can’t lie to high schoolers when they’re recruiting them anymore, and that means they have to start recruiting on merit. It scares them about their future. S

o, they’re trying to stop the change. For those coaches who are secure in what they’re doing, though, they can use the portal to their advantage.

Those coaches who do use and embrace the transfer portal can turn around a roster much more quickly. They can use it to easily fill in gaps, where talent is missing. New Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman has already shown a willingness to go out and recruit using the transfer portal. He, notably, landed Brandon Joseph, an All-American safety from Northwestern.

Still, there are plenty of great players who are still available in the transfer portal. On top of that, Notre Dame football still has plenty of gaps in its roster to fill, particularly if they want to compete with Ohio State in Week 1, or for the College Football Playoff at the end of the season.

So, let’s take a look at three of the key players who are still looking for a home in the transfer portal. It should also be noted that all player ratings and availability are based on the 247 Sports Transfer Portal, which is updated continually. The portal itself is highly volatile and subject to change quickly.
