The Notre Dame football team is likely going with Tyler Buchner at quarterback in 2022, but can he have an Ian Book-like season from 2018?

During the 2021 college football season, Notre Dame football got great play from multiple quarterbacks, including true freshman Tyler Buchner. While Jack Coan was the unquestioned starter and took every snap in the Fiesta Bowl, Buchner played a huge role for the Irish, showing an ability to make plays happen with his arm, and his legs.

The Irish were able to reel off seven straight wins to close out the regular season, and while they lost in their bowl game, there is a lot to be excited about going into next season. They have a stout defense, an exciting coaching staff, and playmakers on offense, but everything is going to revolve around the quarterback situation.

Entering an offseason where Buchner is the presumed starter for 2022, we start to look at what Ian Book did when he took over in 2018, and wonder if Buchner can have the same kind of impact in Year 1 at the helm of this program.
