Notre Dame football: Can Tyler Buchner match Ian Book’s 2018 season?
Buchner and Book both played meaningful snaps the prior season
As we stated earlier, both Buchner and Book played meaningful snaps the prior season, with Book backing up Brandon Wimbush in 2017. He did make a start against North Carolina, and played very well, leading the Irish to a 33-10 victory over the Tar Heels.
In the Citrus Bowl, Book came off the bench and beat LSU, which was a good sign heading into the 2018 college football season. While Buchner did not play in the bowl game this past season, we saw enough of him during the regular season to be excited about what he brings to the table.
