Notre Dame football: Jack Coan may have solidified his draft status

East-West Shrine Bowl

Thanks to his play on the field this season, Coan was selected to play in one of the premier bowl games for players looking to make the jump to the pros. Coan, alongside teammate Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, was chosen to be on the West Team in the East-West Shrine Bowl, a showcase for potential draft picks.

During the week leading up to the game which was played inside Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, Coan was already impressing teammates and scouts. This is a wonderful opportunity for a player like Coan, who is listed as a Day 3 prospect, or a preferred free agent signing, to show that he deserves to hear his name called in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Based on his play in practices, Coan earned the starting nod for the West Team, and he did not disappoint. Coan led the West to two ten-play drives in his two chances, as the team failed at the one-yard line the first drive before he capped off the second drive with a touchdown pass.

As the West went to Brock Purdy at quarterback, Coan’s night was done, but he impressed in a big way, going 10-of-13 for 91 yards and a touchdown.
