No. 19: Notre Dame’s 4th quarter against Navy

Going into the fourth quarter of their matchup against Navy, the score was still in doubt, and the Midshipmen had been the only team to score after halftime. Notre Dame was dealing with a Navy team that just did not put the ball in the air, and with the score 17-6, the two teams went into the final frame each with a chance to come away with the victory.

Then came the safety, as Xavier Arline would fumble the football and recover it in the end zone, giving the Irish a 19-6 lead, and the ball back. Notre Dame would end up scoring on the next possession thanks to a steady dose of Kyren Williams, who capped the drive off with a 20-yard touchdown run.

Braden Lenzy would haul in the two-point conversion, and after another turnover on downs by Navy, the Irish orchestrated another seven-play touchdown drive. This time it was highlighted by a beautiful 23-yard run by Logan Diggs, who would find the end zone two plays later, putting the Midshipmen away for good as the Irish won convincingly, 34-6.
