Notre Dame football: 10 Key targets in the 2023 class

Carnell Tate and Kyler Kasper

By now, it’s no secret that Notre Dame needs help at wide receiver. They only have a few scholarship wide receivers on the roster currently, and with one wide receiver in the Class of 2022, help is needed. That’s especially true when you think about how the game is progressing.

If Notre Dame football wants to win in the College Football Playoff, they need depth on the outside to attack opposing defenses. Notre Dame has tons of wide receivers offered right now, but two stand out for their interest in the Irish, Carnell Tate and Kyler Kasper.

Tate is a five-star receiver from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He’s got strong hands and excellent ball skills, letting him attack the ball. On top of that, Tate has great game speed, letting him break catches into monster gains. Most people are comparing him to Allen Robinson.

As of right now, Tate holds 37 offers and counting. As of right now, Notre Dame and Ohio State are the two favored schools to land him. That makes this an absolutely vital recruit for the Irish to land this cycle.

Kasper, on the other hand, is a four-star wide receiver from Arizona. He holds 23 offers right now, and it seems like a four-team race to land the prospect, between Notre Dame, Ohio State, Iowa, and UCLA. At 6ft 5in tall, Kasper has excellent length for an outside wide receiver.

His father, Kevin Kasper, actually played football at Iowa, giving the Hawkeyes an inside track to land him. His most recent offer, meanwhile, is from Miami.
