The Notre Dame basketball team takes on Louisville tonight at 7 pm ET with a chance to move into sole possession of first place in the ACC.

Incredibly, the Notre Dame basketball team can move into first place in the ACC with a win tonight against the Louisville Cardinals. The Irish have been building up to this within their last 14 games, as they have won nearly all of them, and have been nearly perfect inside Purcell Pavilion, the site of tonight’s ACC matchup.

With Duke losing to Virginia on Monday, coupled with the Notre Dame basketball team winning this weekend at NC State, the Irish and the Blue Devils are tied for first going into tonight’s game. Notre Dame was able to take care of business against Louisville back on January 22, when they scored 44 points in the second half to cruise to a 12-point victory.

Tonight, they need to continue doing what they do best, and that is to spread the ball around.

There is no doubt that the Irish are the better team going into this one, but keep an eye on Nate Laszewski, who is a game-time decision for this Notre Dame basketball team. The big fella went down with a bruise to his knee against NC State and had to leave the game, so the team is preparing like they will not have him tonight against the Cardinals.

Apparently, the oddsmakers do not care and favor the Irish big against their ACC rival. In their last matchup, true freshman Blake Wesley went off for 22 points, and tonight, I believe he causes havoc for this Cardinals defense once again.

Look for a ten-point victory for the Irish at home, moving into first place in the ACC.
