Notre Dame football 2022 recruiting class by the numbers: 1

Irish brought in 1 five-star recruit

When you look at the early returns of the 2023 recruiting class, you already see that Marcus Freeman has hard commitments from two five-star talents. Both Keon Keeley and Drayk Bowen are rated as five-star talents, and with three other prospects, Peyton Bowen, Brenan Vernon, and Justyn Rhett rated in the top-100 in the country, the Irish could already have five players rated five-star committed.

While the 2022 class is no doubt talented, the Irish were only able to ink one five-star player this recruiting cycle, and that is South Carolina linebacker, Jaylen Sneed. This is a kid who could end up being one of the great linebackers to ever put on a Notre Dame football uniform, and you can already see the kind of athleticism he possesses.

At 6-foot-2, and weighing 210 pounds, Sneed not only packs a punch when tackling but has the speed to stay with any target, whether it is a wide receiver or a tight end. Notre Dame football has veteran linebackers coming back, and Sneed likely won’t start in Year 1, but he is going to still play a big role on this defense in 2022.
