Notre Dame football 2022 recruiting class by the numbers: 7

No. 7-ranked recruiting class in the country

In 2021, we got to see some incredible true freshmen step on campus and really play a big part in the Irish going 11-1 in the regular season and pushing for a spot in the College Football Playoff. Lorenzo Styles Jr., Tyler Buchner, Joe Alt, Blake Fisher, and Logan Diggs all had their moments in Year 1, and that was for a class that ranked No. 9 in the country per 247Sports.com.

The program took a step forward during the 2022 recruiting cycle, finishing out as the No. 7-ranked class in the country, a two-spot increase from last year. Most of the talent they have brought in is at least a four-star player, and they finished the class with six players who finished in the top-150 in the country.

Of course, the next step is to put together a top-5 recruiting class, something the Irish are trending towards, as they currently are No. 2 in the country. Marcus Freeman and his staff are special when it comes to bringing in talent and hitting the recruiting trail, and it will be exciting to see what this 2022 class can do in South Bend.
