No. 3: Hire a defensive coordinator

Freeman still has some work to do in terms of his coaching staff, and that includes bringing in a new defensive coordinator. He served in that role last season, and did a tremendous job, as the Irish defense was one of the best in the country during their seven-game winning streak to close the regular season.

Now, Freeman has to find his successor, and there are a handful of candidates that would come in and do an outstanding job in that role. Time is ticking for him to get this done, and with the elite talent that was recruited on that side of the ball in the 2022 class, the incoming DC has more than enough talent returning and coming into make this an elite unit once again.
