Notre Dame football: 3 things Marcus Freeman must do next

No. 2: Continue building 2023 class

While the 2022 Notre Dame football team will soon be entering spring practices and getting ready for the regular-season opener against Ohio State, there is still a ton of work to be done on the recruiting trail. Freeman and his staff have done an outstanding job already with the 2023 recruiting class, a group that is currently ranked No. 2 overall in the country.

After bringing in one five-star talent in the 2022 class, linebacker Jaylen Sneed, the Irish have already inked two five-star players in Drayk Bowen and Keon Keeley. In addition, they have a total of five recruits that are currently ranked in the top-10 in the country, so it is clear they are recruiting on a whole other level right now.

Freeman is a very young head coach and likely has a long tenure ahead of him as the man in charge of this Notre Dame football program, so building on the momentum of the 2022 class is crucial for him and his staff. The Irish will likely be one of the better teams in the country once again this season, and if they can continue to stack talent for the 2023 class as they have so far, a national title is not too far away.
