Round 1, Pick No. 3: Kyle Hamilton, Houston Texans

There is no big surprise as to which member of the Notre Dame football team will be the first off the board this year, it is only a matter of where he will be picked. Kyle Hamilton is rated by many as the best overall player in this draft class, and I do not see any way he falls outside of the first five picks this April.

In fact, after the Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions go at No. 1 and 2, respectively, I like the Houston Texans to run-up to the podium with their index card to draft Hamilton. Lovie Smith joins the Texans as their new head coach, and in Hamilton, he would be getting an Alpha to lead his secondary for years to come.

Based on pure talent and athleticism, there is no equal to Hamilton in this draft class, and he could play a major role in the rebuild in Houston. Smith had some elite defenses when he was the head coach in Chicago, leading them to a Super Bowl, and Hamilton starts that process for him at No. 3 overall.
