Notre Dame football: Early 7-round All-Irish 2022 NFL Mock Draft

Round 3, Pick No. 87: Kyren Williams, Arizona Cardinals

The NFL Draft’s Day 2 includes rounds 2 and 3, and this is where it could get interesting for this Notre Dame football program. They have two players who I believe would hear their names called on Day 2, and in this mock draft, only one of them does not fall to Day 3, and that is running back Kyren Williams.

The truth is, Williams is everything an NFL team looks for in a feature back, as he can do so many things out of the backfield. Not only did he put back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons together for the Irish, becoming the fifth running back to do so at the school, but he also proved to be outstanding in the passing game, and a very capable blocker.

At the next level, Williams is a player who could be a three-down back, and in our mock draft, he lands with the Arizona Cardinals, a playoff team from a year to go. Williams would be an excellent back for Kliff Kingsbury’s offense and would give young star Kyler Murray another elite weapon to throw to in the passing game.
